Fly & Bait Fishing for Trout & Carp & Tench Coarse Pond
Fishing is available on site at Greenhill Fishery - a day ticket fishery offering coarse, fly and bait fishing for trout. Set in a picturesque valley bordering farmland and forest, the four ponds offer a private and secluded sport for both beginners and experienced anglers. Open all year from 8am until 30 minutes prior to dusk. Tackle hire and bait are available to hire or buy.
Fly Fishing
Quarry Pool at 1 acre offers catch and release fly fishing for brown and rainbow trout. The main stock of browns are around 1lb, rainbows are around 2lb, but we have kept it interesting with a few 4-5lb fish. The pond depth ranges from 3-5ft and best tactics are a floating line with ether a dry fly or, due to the dark peaty water, a bright wet fly.
Trout Bait Fishing
Island Pool at half an acre offers catch and keep bait fishing for Rainbow Trout. The pool is stocked regularly with 1.5 - 2lb fish.
Ideal for children and novices. A simple bubble float and sweetcorn will catch you fish.
Coarse Fishing
Lily Pad Pool at 3/4 acre offers mixed species coarse fishing, ideal for pleasure anglers. Species include Mirror & Common Carp to 8lbs, Tench -2lbs, Crucians, F1's and Rudd.
There are a couple of small islands and depths ranging from 2-6ft.
